This Thursday 8th March, The Ecuadorian House in London will host a celebration in honour of the female gender.
It will take place on the 8th March, International Women’s Day, a date recognised by the United Nations as a commemoration of women’s struggle for participation on an equal footing with men in society and for their own personal development.
To coincide with that date, the Second International Festival of Poetry “Woman’s Scream” will be held- a universal event which takes place during the month of March in over 30 countries including the UK, in honour of women and against violence.
At this event in the UK capital, Mexican Mabel Encinas will be present, alongside Peruvian Sofía Buchuck, and from Spain, Isabel Ros-López y Marijo Alba, and Chileans Consuelo Rivera and María Eugenia Bravo, who will share poetry, music, and testimonies regarding the role that women play in society.
There will also be other special guests present to talk about the achievements of women and their contribution to society, as well as testimonies from women activists and live music.
The event will take place on the 8th March at 6pm at The Ecuadorian House in London (144-146 King’s Cross Road, London WC1X 9DU). For more information, contact Mabel on 07962479636.
