The youth of the South American nation will receive financial support in order to attend important British Higher Education establishments.
Thousands of Latin American students make the decision to study outside of their home countries to improve their level of languages and with the hope of gaining more employment opportunities in the future thanks to an international preparation.
Therefore, studying to achieve a certified degree in the United Kingdom becomes an investment in the long term for the youth of Latin America.
In fact, around 298,000 non-EU students were registered in one of the country’s educational establishments during the school year of 2010-2011, according to official figures. Although this figure could see a reduction due to the change in migratory regulations by the British government.
Faced with this demand, financial support is needed from the governments of origin countries in order to study in this country. This is the case of Ecuador.
The Ecuadorian state offers scholarship programmes through SENESCYT (National Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation) to support and promote university study of its fellow citizens in prestige Higher Education establishments worldwide.
Amongst the areas that the scholarships cover are maintenance grants, enrolment, tuition and fees such as airfare, the cost of study, reading and dissertation material and expenses related to health and life insurance for the students.
