Ibero-American dialogues 2017

This year, those with an artistic vein have the opportunity to take part in a competition and to show how they are inspired by Latin art and culture by producing cross-cultural artworks.

VIA Arts Prize is devoted to looking for and supporting talented visual artists to produce creative pieces in dialogue with the Latin American countries, Spain, and Portugal. Participants can express their original ideas through the formats of sculpture, filming, painting, drawing and types of prints on paper.

IPrizewinners-congratulated-150x150 4t is open to individuals from all nationalities of at least 16 years of age and living in the UK under the condition that they are submitting independently without violating any copyrights or using any previously exhibited creation.

This contest is jointly launched by the Embassies of Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries, Itaú Unibanco – the biggest private bank in South America – and People’s Palace Projects (Queen Mary University of London).

Sala-Brazil-birds-eye-view-150x150 3After receiving all the entries, the organizer will conduct a pre-selection process and display up to 30 of the best works in the embassy of Brazil in London. They will later be discretely judged by six highly-respected figures in the world of art who have the final say in deciding the first and second place prize winners.

The best two applicants will be awarded with a monetary bonus and the first place will also have the chance to hold a solo exhibition at the embassy.
