This is the name of a documentary film by the award-winning journalist and filmmaker John Pilger, who will be in London on 28 November for a fundraising screening. Based on USA actions towards China, it gives a real eye opener into a situation ignored by the mainstream media.

China is currently the second biggest economy of the world and it is not a question of if but of when it will catch up to the USA. From trade to potential in expanding their military strength, China poses a real threat to America’s international dominance.

As demonstrated throughout modern history, the USA likes to be in control and American imperialism is a reality that can be witnessed all around the world.

“The coming war on China” gives a unique insight into America’s pre-emptive actions around the region outside of China, where over 400 US military bases, warheads and fleets surround the area. All this put together has the capability of causing great destruction.

The coming war on China coverPilger brings together a collection of rare archives and witness interviews, filming the documentary over a period of two years in the Marshall Islands, China, USA and Korea.

He exposes America’s dirty actions of nuclear testing in the Marshall Islands where the equivalent of one Hiroshima explosion every day for 12 years has been carried out, while also remaining unbiased highlighting human rights abuses of China to name a few.

What will be an informative evening, it will also be one not to be missed. The director himself will be at the screening doing a “Questions and Answers” session, creating the opportunity to ask any unanswered questions or doubts.

Date and Time: Tuesday 28 November, from 18:30 to 21:00. Venue: Rio Cinema, 107 Kingsland High Street, London, E8 2PB. More information and tickets here.
