She is not very happy living in London, but she says that once she gets to be about 60 to 70 years old and makes enough money, she plans to move back to Spain where most of her family currently is. Alicia Piedra moved from Ecuador to Spain when she was a young adult. She then moved to London.
Not all stories about moving to a new country or a big city are success stories. Some have happy endings and others just have endings.
For Alicia, her story is a little bit more complicated than most. As a young, beautiful Ecuadorian woman, she moved to Saragosta, Spain in search of a more prosperous life. She found it very hard to find a well-paid job while living in Ecuador.
When she got to Spain, Alicia found that it was still hard to find a job with a good enough salary to help her support herself and her children. She kept hearing from friends and family that London would have more to offer and would be a better place for her to live. Still beautiful, you can tell that hardship and sleepless nights have started to wear her out and tire her.
Since moving to London, Alicia found that her life hasn’t been any easier. Although overcoming her old problems with not being able to find work, she has encountered a few new ones that have made adjusting here just as difficult.
Although she is happy living here, the amount of hours she dedicates to working in order to make enough for her and her family makes it a little bit harder.
She wants to give more time to her kids and be there for them, but in order to support her family she has to work more hours than the average person. While her job is a stable one, it is not necessarily a high-paying one.
In addition, her home isn’t very close to the hospital at which she works, making it harder for her to commute back and forth. Commuting to work everyday isn’t cheap, because between bus fare, taxi fare and underground fare, all of that can add up to a big bill at the end of the week.
Living in London can be expensive and for many people coming here to work, it will most likely be hard in the beginning. Alicia is someone who can vouch for that.
At the moment, she isn’t very happy living in London, but she says that once she gets to be about 60 to 70 years old and makes enough money, she plans to move back to Spain where most of her family currently is.
For now, though, she is toughing it out for her children and is putting in as many hours as necessary.
