Para recordar las consecuencias de lo que signific\u00f3 su implementaci\u00f3n, se celebrar\u00e1 una charla con un experto en este fragmento de la historia brit\u00e1nica.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_198582\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-198582\" style=\"width: 453px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-198582\" src=\"https:\/\/tucuentavip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/recordando-poll-Foto-evento-facebook-e1583473148571.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"453\" height=\"306\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-198582\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Foto evento Facebook Freedom Bookshop\u200eCan&#8217;t Pay, Won&#8217;t Pay: The fight to stop the Poll Tax<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Natacha Andueza Bosch<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Se trata de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opendemocracy.net\/en\/author\/simon-hannah\/\">Simon Hannah<\/a> quien recuerda esos agitados d\u00edas de resistencia y cuenta la historia de las personas que golpearon a los agentes judiciales, se amotinaron por sus derechos y desafiaron a un gobierno.<\/p>\n<p>Para Hannah estos momentos est\u00e1n muy vividos en sus recuerdos, sobre todo porque es el autor de <em><a href=\"https:\/\/talking-about-the-new-jerusalem.com\/2020\/01\/29\/cant-pay-wont-pay-the-fight-to-stop-the-poll-tax\/#more-288\">\u201cCan&#8217;t pay, won&#8217;t pay: the fight to stop the Poll Tax\u201d<\/a><\/em><em>,<\/em><strong> <em>(\u2018<\/em><\/strong><em>No pueden pagar, no pagar\u00e1n: La lucha por detener el impuesto de capitaci\u00f3n\u2019), <\/em>su nuevo libro y que da el t\u00edtulo a su pr\u00f3xima charla.<\/p>\n<p>Dicho t\u00edtulo corresponde al eslogan que constantemente se neg\u00f3 a reconocer el impuesto en aquel momento, y que adem\u00e1s form\u00f3 el movimiento social que ayud\u00f3 a derribar a uno de los primeros ministros brit\u00e1nicos m\u00e1s poderosos del siglo XX.<\/p>\n<p>El impuesto del censo se introdujo primero en Escocia en abril de 1989 y en Inglaterra y Gales un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s. Este pretend\u00eda obligar a todos los ciudadanos a contribuir econ\u00f3micamente por igual, independientemente de su capacidad econ\u00f3mica.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-198584 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/tucuentavip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/recordando-poll-tax-libra-dinero-inglaterra-Pixabay-e1583473237644.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"402\" height=\"256\" \/>Como resultado, surgieron campa\u00f1as de desobediencia civil y manifestaciones por todo el pa\u00eds, que pronto desencadenaron en protestas, violencia y graves disturbios.<\/p>\n<p>El 31 de marzo de 1990, en Trafalgar Square tuvo lugar el mot\u00edn m\u00e1s importante que el centro de Londres hab\u00eda presenciado desde hac\u00eda un siglo.<\/p>\n<p>En aquel momento, 3.000 manifestantes se rebelaron contra la polic\u00eda, atac\u00e1ndolos con ladrillos, botellas y postes de andamios, y 340 fueron arrestados. De las 113 personas que resultaron heridas, 45 eran polic\u00edas. A finales de ese mismo a\u00f1o, la primera ministra Margaret Thatcher se vio obligada a renunciar. Fue reemplazada por John Major, quien introdujo el \u201ccouncil tax\u201d reemplazando al \u201cpoll tax\u201d y el cu\u00e1l sigue vigente hoy.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/talking-about-the-new-jerusalem.com\/2020\/01\/29\/cant-pay-wont-pay-the-fight-to-stop-the-poll-tax\/#more-288\">\u201cCan&#8217;t pay, won&#8217;t pay: the fight to stop the Poll Tax\u201d<\/a><\/em> sumerge al lector en la descarnada historia de la rebeli\u00f3n.
