Piensa que en Occidente podr\u00e1 seguir siendo un buen comunista.<\/p>\n<p>Las acaloradas discusiones entre Elizabeth y Uli forman una de las dos narraciones del libro. Escritora comprometida con la RDA, no fue ciega ante los fallos del sistema, lo que confiere a la obra una dimensi\u00f3n personal y profunda.<\/p>\n<p>Sab\u00eda por qu\u00e9 la gente se iba a vivir a Alemania Occidental, pero entend\u00eda igualmente por qu\u00e9 deb\u00edan quedarse y trabajar por un futuro mejor que el que se ofrec\u00eda en la otra Alemania. Siente que pertenece a este lugar y se lo imagina como su hogar:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVolv\u00ed por el camino. All\u00ed estaba nuestra casa, blanca y en forma de cubo, con las ramas de los cerezos crecidos balance\u00e1ndose sobre el balc\u00f3n.
