Marcolongo decide instalar su cama de acampada, su saco de dormir y su linterna cerca de las esculturas que Pericles encarg\u00f3 para decorar el Parten\u00f3n, construido en el siglo V a.C. para celebrar la victoria griega sobre las fuerzas invasoras del poderoso Imperio Persa.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-282710\" src=\"https:\/\/theprisma.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Cover-1.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 313px) 100vw, 313px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theprisma.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Cover-1.jpg 551w, https:\/\/theprisma.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Cover-1-130x200.jpg 130w, https:\/\/theprisma.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Cover-1-431x664.jpg 431w\" alt=\"\" width=\"313\" height=\"483\" \/>Pasa la noche en la sala que tiene el tama\u00f1o (160 metros) de la banda de decoraciones esculpidas y pintadas que formaban el friso del Parten\u00f3n. La sala muestra los espacios cuadrados, las metopas, que estaban llenos de figuras de m\u00e1rmol esculpidas. No se conservan ni siquiera fragmentos de unos treinta metros del friso y estas metopas se dejan en blanco, con im\u00e1genes reproducidas en sus esquinas de lo que representaban anta\u00f1o. Otros cincuenta metros est\u00e1n formados por copias en yeso de los originales que a\u00fan se conservan en el Museo Brit\u00e1nico.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de las negociaciones en curso entre Atenas y Londres, no se ha fijado una fecha para la devoluci\u00f3n de los llamados <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/about-us\/british-museum-story\/contested-objects-collection\/parthenon-sculptures\">M\u00e1rmoles de Elgin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>El Museo Brit\u00e1nico est\u00e1 preocupado por el precedente que sentar\u00eda su devoluci\u00f3n, ya que hay otros tesoros en el museo -los <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/about-us\/british-museum-story\/contested-objects-collection\/benin-bronzes\">bronces de Ben\u00edn<\/a>, en particular- saqueados en el extranjero. Se entrena para su primer marat\u00f3n en Par\u00eds. No sabe por qu\u00e9 ella o cualquier otra persona quiere someter a su cuerpo a correr 26 millas sin ninguna ganancia obvia, pero cree que puede tener algo que ver con el miedo a morir: Corro, luego existo\u00bb.
