Latin America is by far the area of the world that has been worst hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. At the end of 2020 the region counted more than fifteen million cases, 20% of the worlds total. The 40 million newly poor that in one year have been added to a Latin America that has gone back fifteen years in economic and social terms are not asleep.
