In reality this is not a war between Ukraine and Russia but one between the United States and Russia and, more strategically, between the United States and China. Its possible outcomes will necessarily be shaped by the roles played by these powers, its true protagonists. Ukraine is just a pawn that is paying a high price for its role in this conflict.
