Trump sets his sights on Latin America

Rebranding the Monroe Doctrine for the 21st century, self-proclaiming to be chosen by God to make his country great again, denial of the serious issue of climate change, and a plan to claim ownership of Mars. All this was announced on January 20th to huge applause from all attendees.

This is the response from the Hostosian National Independence Movement (MINH), Puerto Rico, which maintains that the recently elected US president Donald J. Trump has declared war against Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Without raising his voice and with his characteristic imperial commander arrogance, his action also includes the multitude of migrants who are seeking a way out from their precarious economic and social situation as well as significant sectors of the US society itself, who defend the environment and respect gender diversity,” MINH said. The organisation also reported that Trump, without batting an eyelid, has “declared war against our people and other nations, while shamelessly proclaiming himself an advocate of peace. He is obsessed with making America great again, having been on an economic, political and social decline for decades. That is what makes him and his followers so dangerous”.

Trump, who immediately put Cuba back on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list, is now the biggest threat to humanity, and, particularly, Latin America and the Caribbean’s number one enemy.

“Now more than ever we need to come together, foremost to defend the national sovereignty of each country of Our America”, said MINH National Directorate. A  warning was also given about “the danger looming over our nations, in times when neo-fascism and the most vulgar imperialism have taken residence in the White House”.
